The Irish Self Catering Federation supports members by lobbying for change which supports the positive development of the self catering accommodation sector in Ireland, and through cost saving benefits, marketing and PR initiatives, training and information.

NEWS
New ISCF Consumer Website and Booking Engine
The ISCF New website and booking engine will be launched pre-season 2010. The website name will be www.letsgoselfcatering.com and www.letsgoselfcatering.ie . This will be followed by the tag line 'Irelands holiday home advisor'. A new logo has also been designed.
Significant investment will be made in marketing the website to ensure search engine optimisation. The booking engine itself, will be tailored for self catering business.
Members will be able to opt into the booking engine, and it is intended that a member can have online booking embedded within their own site.
Consumers will be able to book and pay online by credit or debit card and laser card. There will be a commission charged for this service, the details are yet to be finalised, however, as ISCF is a not-for-profit organisation we hope to offer a (very competitive rate) / rate below the other marketing companies.

Lobbying for the industry
Active lobbying is ongoing for the following issues:
- €200 local authority charge - Not allowable as an expense
- Commercial TV licence's
- Taxation of Self Catering Accommodation income

Failte Ireland – new arrangements for individual self catering properties
New arrangements are now in place for businesses with less than 8 holiday rental properties with a new online application procedures, updated star ratings and marketing support.
